There’s absolutely nothing as soothing to body and soul as the sound of gentle water movement. Those who are fortunate to live in a spot where nature provides this know what I mean. I’m fortunate enough to live in a house perched above a gurgling stream and just have to step out onto my deck at the end of a stressful day to receive its magical benefits. For those of you who live in less rural environs, however, there is another means to the same end: a fountain. The “Bowl Fountain” with its mesmerizing sound of water and eternal ripples floating out towards the edge of the bowl, creates an instant tranquil atmosphere anywhere. With its simple, understated elegance it could be at home in almost any garden, patio, courtyard or roof-top terrace. It’s practical too, as the water is self-contained and circulates between an inner and an outer bowl. The inner bowl is shallow and perfect for adding your own personal touch in the form of pebbles, river rocks, or clear marbles in the size and color of your choice. And, while it looks like it’s made of metal, it’s really made of fiber-glass, so is much easier to move about than it would appear (minus the water and stones that fill it of course!).
